Sometimes called the queen of the Riviera, Torquay is definitely the liveliest of the Devon towns. The pretty harbour is surrounded by open air cafes and bars and just a short stroll down from the promenade, you come to the busy pier and the start of one of Torquay's 9 beaches. Just outside of Torquay town centre, there are miles of stunning, dramatic coastlines where you can explore.

For those after a more laid back and beach focused holiday, Paignton is Torquay's smaller neighbour and life here is all about the beach. As with all great seaside resorts, Paignton is home to a traditional pier and of course no family holiday would be complete without a round of Pirate Golf.

At the southern end of the bay is Paignton Harbour, and no matter whether you are an old sea dog or fresh to the seven seas, this is a great place to start.

Moving along the road again, the pretty harbour town of Brixham awaits, this colourful and bustling fishing port to the southern tip of Torbay makes for a great day trip wherever you are based on the Riviera.

No trip to Devon would be complete without a trip to the Dartmoor National Park. Dartmeet is a good place to start, right in the heart of Dartmoor, this picture postcard spot is an enchanting place to discover.

Just down the road again, you will find the historic town of Dartmouth. Split in two by the River Dart, there are two vehicle ferries and a host of passenger ferries that connect the two river banks. Back on dry land, Dartmouth offers a stunning setting for a UK Pet Friendly Holiday. This picturesque spot makes a great relaxing getaway.
